Agents of Architecture Welcomes Partner Keith York
There are few people, if any, that are more knowledgeable with regard to Mid-Century Modern architecture in San Diego, CA. From the designs themselves, to the architects, and every story in between, Keith York is an encyclopedia of all things related to his craft.
Not only does he run ModernSanDiego.com, which is the go-to source for local MCM info, but Keith has curated incredible exhibits on the late and great Julius Shulman. He has hosted talks throughout the City on the subject, and has represented a fair share of San Diego’s portfolio of unique Mid-Century Modern properties, amongst other noteworthy mentions.

Recently Keith has represent buyers in pursuing their dreams to live in one-of a kind homes (all from 1964) including the Engstrand House in La Mesa by Frank Lloyd Wright apprentice, architect Sim Bruce Richards, Park Prospect Condominium by Miesian modernist Russell Forester in La Jolla and a Sommers Poutous ‘Modern House’ in a unique small tract of homes east of San Diego State University. Two significant sales have also resulted in renovation blogging and applications for Historic Designations – engineer Robert Liebner’s house (1961) for his own family and the Ledbetter House (1968) by internationally renowned organic architect Kendrick Bangs Kellogg.

2020 was a banner year for Mr. York in representing sellers hoping to connect the sale of their unique architect-designed homes with curious, passionate buyers sensitive to continuing the legacy of the home. These sales include the Sloan House (1968) in Sunset Cliffs by architect Paul McKim; a condominium in the Salomon Building (1959) by architects Henry Hester & Ronald K. Davis; an early (1954) Russell Forester design for Oceanographer Fred Spiess in La Jolla; as well as two projects by pioneering modernist Lloyd Ruocco - the ‘3-Wishes House’ (1942) (published by The Building Forum/Good Housekeeping Magazine); and the Keller House (1948) in Bankers Hill.
