1938-41 Streamline Moderne ‘The Walter Church Residence’ by builder, Reuben C. Haas - Lemon Grove

Walter Church, a local celebrity, bought the property on May 7, 1940 and construction was completed by February 18, 1941. Church’s mansion and estate was originally conceived as a 20-acre ranch of orange groves and horse stables.

Emerging in the 1930s, Streamline Moderne architecture took cues from the elegant curves and horizontal lines of airplanes, locomotives, ships and product design of the period.

Open Sunday, Jul 17th from 11-2pm

8463 Golden Avenue, Lemon Grove

Circa 1948 Modern ‘The Pierce House’ by Philip M. Pierce - La Mesa

An abundance of glass connects the interior with the landscape. Extensive views to the east – overlooking the village of La Mesa and Mt. Helix beyond.

The backyard, sitting under a canopy of trees, offers a woodsy microclimate. Enjoy sunny mornings, shady afternoons and starry nights from outdoor spaces as well as inside – which hosts a number of this home’s original, fantastic design features.

Open Sunday, Jul 17th from 11-2pm

8185 Fairview Avenue, La Mesa

Eclectic New England design ‘The Heacock Residence’ by renowned local builder Ed Heacock - La Mesa

Step back in time with this unique La Mesa property built by master craftsman and renowned local builder Ed Heacock.

Sitting at the front of the property is a charming 1940’s Ranch-style home featuring 2 Bedrooms & 1 Bath, wood floors, fireplace, detached studio & private fenced yard.

Rustic gates & winding paths lead to the rear of the property, where you will find a New England-style 3 Bedroom & 2.5 Bath home custom built by Heacock for his own family, and filled with his signature rustic details including waxed brick floors, open beam ceilings & oversized brick fireplace.

Open Sunday, Jul 17th from 12-3pm

4468-70 Dale Avenue, La Mesa

Circa 1961 Mid-Century Modern ‘The Wells Residence’ by Raymond James Wells - Sunset Cliffs, Point Loma

Purchased from the original architect/owner in the mid 1960’s, this house hasn’t been marketed in over 50 years.

The classic design includes the elements you’d expect in a period property of this magnitude – plenty of oversized glass windows, minimalist design, tongue & groove ceilings, angular shapes & a true connection to the nature in your own yard.

Open Sunday, Jul 17th from 1-4pm

4411 Algeciras St., Sunset Cliffs

Circa 1931 Spanish Revival - Plumosa Park, Point Loma

Original iron staircase with Spanish tiles and iron chandelier and sconces. Upstairs master retreat with en-suite and sitting room,
