Agents of Architecture, The Journal - Vol. 12

Hopefully you are enjoying the end of Spring as our Summer weather is quickly approaching here in San Diego.

First off, we wanted to thank everyone who attended the second event at our new office & gallery space. ‘The Art of Sitting’ was a chair exhibition showcasing a variety of rare and unique 20th century chairs. It was a pleasure hosting it and seeing such a fun & diverse group of people get together and talk about design & architecture. We’ve posted some photos from the show in one of the story links below.

If you would like to be added to our invite list for upcoming events, just send us an email with your contact information.

The real estate market remains very active, especially in the unique home category, and even among traditional homes that are presented and marketed well. Although interest rates have gone up, inventory remains very low (we are however, seeing signs of it slowly increasing), and we still have a lot of people who want to make a transition here; either geographically from other cities or locals seeking a change from their current space.

With this slight inventory pickup, we are seeing some nice architectural properties hit the market. As always we have put together some of our favorite listings on the market today. From a Spanish gem in North Mission Hills, to a contemporary modern design just completed in Encinitas; where we were lucky enough to have been given a private tour by the team who created it.

Our ‘out-of-town’ listing for this edition is an incredible Circa 1927 Spanish Revival tennis estate in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles.

We are also proud to announce several of our firms’ recent closings; including a Mid-Century Modern by Henry Hester in Del Mar, and yet another sale in East Village’s Parkloft, designed by KMA Architecture.

Coming on the market very soon we have a Streamline Moderne in Lemon Grove, a compact modern design in La Mesa, a Lakeside home built by hand using granite from a local quarry, and a Mid-Century Modern in Del Mar, rumored to be built under the guidance of John Lloyd Wright, and which was previously owned and landscaped by Emmet Wemple, an internationally acclaimed landscape architect.

Hope you enjoy this month’s volume.
